Design # 824 STAR-CRUISER. TANTON -37-39 in Aluminum.

Designed with a no-nonsense approach. The 37-39 was conceived as a real blue-water boat, built with modern material.

With the combination of good design, good building and method of construction, I am seeking a refined, real market of owners interested in strength, room and performance. Such an approach has worked well in Europe but so far seems to fail in the US.

Aluminum was chosen because of it straightforward characteristics. Strength, lightness, lack of maintenance.

Under a "StarWars" appearance, the look and feel of the boat is to be seen. The dimensions are perfect to give room, speed and weatherliness. The rig is tall, strong and efficient. The deck is workable, comfortable and well laid out. It includes a swimming platform aft, a small roof and well inboard chainplates. Built-in hatches and dorade vents give the interior plenty of air and ventilation. The hull with triple chines is reasonably easy to build, immensely strong; where scantlings, chainplates and integrity are taken very seriously.

The beam gives way to a huge interior where everything seems to fit agreeably. A forward cabin, main salon, large galley and chart table, plus aft toilet, shower arrangement and a watch cabin. Many others and different combinations of accommodation are also available.

Recently, "Star Cruiser" accomplished an around the world voyage. And is now owned by Charles Doane, Editor at Sail Magazine.
